Hotel Allora

THE HOTEL ALLORA STORY

A new chapter begins in the world of hospitality: soon Hotel Allora will open its doors. It is not just another place to rest, but a truly special destination built on passion, dedication, and a generous dose of creativity. The hotel’s founder, Róbert Rónaszéki, shared how the idea was born, the challenges faced during its realization, and the vision that guided every step of construction. This story is about dreams coming true, a love for the smallest details, and unforgettable experiences offered to guests.

What motivated me?

It was my childhood dream to one day have my own hotel. A place I imagined, shaped, and designed to reflect my vision. For more than 30 years I have been involved in the construction of heritage buildings and newly built residential complexes – but this project has always been special to me.

When I first entered this dilapidated, neglected building, others might have seen only decay – but I saw the opportunity I had dreamed of as a child.

I didn’t just want to rebuild walls; I wanted to create a feelingto create a feeling special . This is not merely a business for me – it is a heartfelt mission, a dream come true.

Why did I choose this location?

For many years I passed by the building daily. Its proportions and character always struck me – even when it had long been abandoned and decay had taken over.

There was something captivating about it: the atmosphere of the old world, the details, the marks of time… As if it were waiting for someone to breathe life into it again.

I increasingly felt that this building had a purpose with me. So when the opportunity arose, there was no question – I knew this was the place where I could make my dream a reality.

How did the concept and identity of the hotel develop?

Having worked in construction for decades, I have built countless homes for others – and for myself too. After so many years, I know exactly what truly resonates with me.

I have always been drawn to the Italian way of life: refined elegance, warmth, and a love for details – this is what I wanted to bring to the hotel. That’s where the name comes from: Hotel Allora – a nod to the Italian mentality, which for me means living in the moment, style, and openness.

The design and interiors were greatly shaped by Szilvia Eőry, with whom I have worked for more than 25 years. Szilvia is not only an interior designer – she understands exactly what I want, often without words. I owe her a lot – this hotel reflects her talent and sensibility as well.

What challenges did we face during construction?

When you imagine something, the first step is always exciting – but the real tests come during execution. It was no different for us.

As soon as we began shaping the concept I envisioned, we immediately faced the building’s true condition. For a year and a half we were almost exclusively demolishing – thousands of cubic meters of debris had to be removed before we could even start building.

And as is often the case, unexpected problems followed – structural surprises, hidden faults, and outdated technical solutions that had to be modernized.

But I was fortunate: I worked with excellent, experienced professionals, and together we overcame every obstacle. I am deeply grateful to them – without them, the hotel would not look the way it does today. Guests now see only the final result – but behind it lies immense work, struggle , and passion .

What makes Hotel Allora special?

Countless small details make Hotel Allora truly unique – because for us, it was not just about building a hotel, but about creating atmosphere and lifestyle..

We wanted to evoke the Italian way of life – with refined elegance, natural materials, and attention to detail visible in every aspect. This is felt right at the entrance: guests walk along a genuine cobblestone path leading directly to the reception and lobby. Inside – especially in the restaurant – authentic Italian ambiance dominates, but we also honored our Hungarian roots: our menu includes traditional Hungarian dishes so foreign guests can taste Hungarian hospitality too.

We paid particular attention to lighting: the hotel’s interiors, rooms, communal spaces, and restaurant are equipped with high-quality, professional lighting systems to ensure a harmonious, refined atmosphere at any time of day.

In addition, the building’s exceptional acoustics inspired a special sound system – with audio quality suitable even for concert-level experiences. Guests can enjoy musical evenings, live performances, or private events with outstanding sound.

The hotel also stands out by offering six completely different room types – from standard rooms to premium VIP suites. All rooms are spacious: the smallest is 35 m², the largest 75 m², each with individually designed interiors, quality materials, and refined finishes.

We didn’t want a mass product – but a place where guests truly feel special. And we believe the pictures speak for themselves.

What do we want guests to feel when they enter?

We want every guest who steps into Hotel Allora to immediately feel: they have arrived. A place where it feels good to be. Where details don’t shout for attention, yet everything is in its place.

We didn’t aim for glitter – but for coziness and elegance combined. A setting where guests don’t just stay, but rest, recharge… and long to return..

If we achieve this feeling – then we have achieved what we set out to do.

Are there special services or experiences we want to highlight?

Hotel Allora is not an ordinary hotel. We transformed a characterful old residential building into a four-star, but in spirit a five-heart place – a hotel that stands out even within its category.

Our location is unique: the hotel is situated on Budapest’s longest road, Üllői út, close to the city center and the airport.. Yet the interiors are surprisingly calm – the noise of traffic is almost completely filtered out, allowing guests to rest in peace.

The building offers many services that make staying here comfortable and special:

  • 24-hour ATM directly inside the building

  • Artisan bakery, filling mornings with fresh aromas

  • Craft burger bar for lovers of modern gastronomy

  • Hair salon for a refreshing touch-up

  • And right next door, a unique local market where producers and artisans sell their goods – a true gem in the heart of the district

This diversity provides not only convenience but a genuine experience. Hotel Allora is not just accommodation – it is a place where guests receive more than they expected.

What is the one thing that makes the hotel truly memorable?

What is the one thing that makes the hotel truly memorable?

Guests often say: it feels like stepping into another world – where Italian lifestyle blends with Hungarian hospitality, excellent cuisine, and attentive, friendly staff.

Here, everyone matters. We don’t just offer rooms, but care, atmosphere, and experience.

The hotel also has its own outdoor terrace, where guests can relax with a glass of wine or a fine coffee – whether in the morning with fresh pastries or in the evening after a cozy dinner.

On request, we are happy to show guests the beauty of Budapest – with organized sightseeing tours, or day trips to Szentendre, Visegrád, or Lake Balaton, using our own transfer service.

You are at home, yet you’ve traveled – this is the feeling we want to give every guest who visits us.

If we had to describe the hotel in one word?

Allora.

Because it is not just our name – it is the feeling you experience here.

How does Hotel Allora fit into the life of the local community?

Since it became known that the building had a new owner, locals – who knew its past and its neglected state – approached us with genuine curiosity and openness. It was an honor that when they learned what we wanted to create, they welcomed the idea almost immediately.

In June 2024 we opened Hotel Allora’s own patisserie and café, which has since warmly welcomed not only hotel guests but also local residents.

Today it has become a new meeting point for the community: families, friends, and businesspeople drop in for a good coffee, a fresh pastry, or authentic Italian gelato – because here these are not just names on a menu, but experiences.

The patisserie’s offerings are based on recipes by Alessandro Noferini, a Florentine pastry master. From him we learned the secrets of true Italian desserts – from tiramisu to cannoli – and of course, artisanal Italian gelato made with traditional recipes and premium ingredients.

Our coffee is also Italian – full-bodied, characterful, exactly as a real espresso should be.

We are proud that Hotel Allora gives something not only to guests but also to locals: a place that restored the building’s dignity – and created community where once there was only emptiness.

The hotel itself is the secret… everyone should set out on a journey of discovery… and if they find it, let me know… 😀
